Tappi is a series of interactive books for kids age 2-6, that come to life through audio. Tappi books feature stories, music, and games, designed to develop early literacy skills such as vocabulary and comprehension.

The books come to life with the Play Pen, a portable, screen-free reading pen that plays audio when kids tap anywhere in the book. Designed for little hands, it lets kids take charge of how they listen, learn, and play.

You'll just need one Play Pen for our entire catalog of books. You can purchase the Play Pen as part of Tappi Starter Set, or on its own.

Tappi is designed to grow with your child, from ages 2 to 6+:

Toddlers (1–3): Books feature early words and interactive songs, to build language and fine motor skills. Littles under 2 may need adult supervision to play.

Preschoolers (3+): Every book has interactive games that develop comprehension and critical thinking, and our upcoming Let’s Learn series develops early reading and math skills.

Sound Books: Instead of old-school buttons, Tappi books have hundreds of tap-to-play audio points. Our rechargeable Play Pen delivers better sound, and works with all Tappi books.

iPad Apps: Tappi has the benefits of apps — interactive, fun, supports independent play — without the downsides of screens.

Audio Players: Beyond just sound, Tappi adds tactile interactivity and visual books, inviting kids to actively play rather than passively listen.

Tappi was made by two moms tired of the extremes of modern play. Wooden toy brands tell us “tech is bad!”, but deliver toys that feel more like furniture than fun. Meanwhile, screens and apps were engaging and bought us a minute — but also overstimulating, and added to our mom guilt.

We made Tappi so that parents don’t have to choose between extremes.
